The training units are intended to sensitise target groups for the possibility of traumatisation as a consequence of sexualised violence and to provide participants with confidence for their actions in dealing with persons affected.
The training design addresses all professional groups that potentially come into contact with traumatised women and girls, such as, in particular, counselling staff of psychosocial support centres, social workers, pedagogues, medical and nursing staff.
Also for police officers and the legal profession, the training units offer useful tools for attending to traumatised women. Beyond this, it can provide staff in politics and administration with valuable information about how to improve the health care situation by implementing institutional changes.
The modular structure of the training concept facilitates its adaptation to the different support structures in EU member countries and the respective relevant national professional groups.
